This concept project is oriented on two goals: the technological; by proposing an alternative source of clean energy from plants, and the sociocultural; to encourage the reflexion about changing inefficient energy consumption habits, and turn them progressively into alternative and clean energies.
This project is based on scientific evidence that shows the potential of living plants (succulents) as sustainable sources of energy.
Development is not limited to product design or engineering
considerations. Lumi was thought as an entrepreneurial venture that articulates any aspect of the business canvas, to become a startup based on green energy.
The electrochemical reaction between internal crystals present in Aloe Vera leaves and electrodes creates enough power to feed the LEDs.
